We are very pleased to announce our newest litter born December 16, 2004. We have both parents on site and both are Champions in the Cat Fanciers' Association (CFA). This litter is from Sire: CH Phoenix and Dam: Ch. Telecoon's Iona of Mainepride. We now have five brand new kittens! One is red, three are brown tabbies and one patch girl round out the litter.
Mainepride is a small cattery located near San Diego,
California, owned by Nancy McManus and is registered with
CFA and TICA. We show in CFA only at this time.
Our goal is to contribute to the breed by raising happy and healthy kittens and cats that are true to the breed standard. We are dedicated to the importance of health, temperment, cleanliness and well being of all our cats. Nancy dedicates herself full-time
to every aspect of this wonderful hobby as well as our home and children.
We strive to surpass all of our cats emotional, physical, medical and nutritional
needs. This hobby is truly a passion and a labor of love.
Maine Coons have the most
wonderful outgoing and goofy personalities.

Our kittens are born and raised in our bedroom until they receive their first set of vaccinations at 9 weeks of age. After the kittens first set of vaccinations, they are allowed to roam the house and mingle with our beautiful Golden Retriever, Maggie, our California Desert Tortoise, our other cats and our three wonderful children. By the time the kittens are ready to go to their new homes they are fully socialized and are ready for anything.
My hope in breeding Maine Coons is to improve the breed and pass on these wonderful and beautiful cats for other people to enjoy as much as I do. All of our breeding cats are ultrasounded for the heart disease known as Hypertrophic Cardiomyopathy and also screened for Hip Dysplasia. Bear was tested for HCM on January 18, 2003 and was "normal" at the time of screening.
We encourage all potential kitten buyers to visit us at local
